My first contact with BPM systems was throw IBM Lotus Worflow a system on which I work for almost 4 years. In this time I develop new processes for telecom companies in Romania, mainly document management systems.
For a short period of time about half year a take part from a team that develop "from scratch" a BPM product that we called eDoc.net. The entire BPM engine was develop on .net technology all this time I learned the new technology and I was able to develop the module called "Organization". This system was a Lotus Workflow like system with the same functionality manners. This project gave me the big picture on how a BPM product worked.
Later on I was a technical leader on a project that took the eDoc.net product a put it on Java technology and became eDoc Java.
I have the chance to work with IBM BPM product too, not directly with it, I only do integration throw CMIS between IBM Filenet Content Manager.
